Mission

DMACC provides quality, affordable, student-centered education and training to empower Iowans of all ages and backgrounds to pursue life’s opportunities and achieve their career dreams.[2]

Programs

DMACC has major areas of focus in the fields of computing, nursing, and vocational training, with over 75 career programs. DMACC also enjoys close ties with the three major regent universities in Iowa, Iowa State University, University of Iowa, and University of Northern Iowa. Many students who transfer their general education courses from DMACC to a four-year college benefit from the savings in tuition costs. A normal credit hour at DMACC for a resident student will cost $125 per hour for Iowa residents and $250 for non-Iowa residents(Summer 2011 rates), compared to resident tuition rates at Iowa State University, which can range from $286.75 to $232.50 per credit hour, depending on how many credits are taken at a given semester.

Students

In 2005, over 22,000 individuals took at least one college-credit course at DMACC, and nearly 50,000 enrolled in DMACC's continuing education programs.
